How To Help

Please consider supporting Ukraine, whether you volunteer time to a nonprofit providing humanitarian aid, make a monetary donation, or simply advocate for Ukraine.

Remember that even the smallest donation in time or money has a big impact; for example, the Ukrainian Red Cross website notes that: $10 can provide a hygiene kit to a family of five, giving them supplies to stay healthy for a month; $20 can provide five blankets to families taking shelter; $30 can provide 3,600 chlorine tablets to ensure that families have access to clean, safe water; $100 can provide sleeping mats for 66 people who have been forced from their homes.

Following is information for non-profit organizations that we have been following. These organizations have been working tirelessly to support Ukraine. Links for more information and how to get involved or donate are provided.

Razom for Ukraine

razomforukraine.org

Razom was born out of the Revolution of Dignity in 2014 when millions of people worked together and risked their lives to build a pathway to a better future for Ukraine. Those who were unable to be in Ukraine during this time, wanted to do their part to help the movement as best they could from abroad. Many sent funds and supplies to sustain the community built on the Maidan through the winter, but they also took to the streets in their own cities to raise awareness and amplify voices from Ukraine in the West.

In New York, a handful of the organizers and participants of those activities decided to form an organization that could help sustain momentum and propel forward the important work started on the Maidan. They named it Razom, which means “together” in Ukrainian and serves as a constant reminder of the community that it takes to create, build and do, to stay the path towards a more prosperous and democratic Ukraine.

Razom initiates short and long-term projects, or collaborates on existing projects with partner organizations, which help Ukraine stay on the path of fostering democracy and prosperity. Their projects are designed to have tangible, immediate manifestations of impact and provide opportunities for scalable growth ensuring that impact lasts.

Following russia’s attack on Ukraine on February 24, 2022, Razom quickly mobilized an emergency response to save lives. Razom has been providing critical humanitarian war relief and recovery, as well as assistance to newly arriving displaced Ukrainians in the US. unwla.org

Established in 1925, the Ukrainian National Women’s League of America (UNWLA) is the longest-running and largest Ukrainian women’s organization in the US. Its mission is to promote and develop educational and cultural efforts and provide humanitarian assistance to Ukrainians worldwide. The UNWLA allocates funds to deliver medicine and medical equipment to hospitals, help sustain evacuated orphanages, and deliver humanitarian aid (food parcels, hygienic items, generators, etc.) to the heavily damaged areas of Ukraine. The Keep Ukraine Warm initiative aims to fund window repairs and deliver wood-burning stoves and winter relief items to communities disproportionately affected by the Russian war in Ukraine.

Gate To Ukraine

gate.org

Gate To Ukraine was founded for the purpose of allowing anyone to Help Ukrainian Families Directly. Millions of Ukrainian families have had their lives destroyed by the war and many are displaced, unemployed, and beyond the reach of humanitarian resources. Sponsoring a family is often the difference between them starving or eating, between them being able to move away from areas of active conflict or be forced stay behind and risk their lives. It’s difficult to comprehend the pain these families are going through every day and impossible to watch their stories without getting emotional. Despite their tragic circumstances, their incredible perseverance, resolve, and endless passion for Ukrainian freedom and independence is what keeps the team at Gate To Ukraine working hard to help as many families as possible.  Gate To Ukraine, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization. Donations are deductible to the full extent allowable under IRS regulations.
