Join the UNWLA in Celebrating Ukrainian Traditions, Art, and Culture This Holiday Season

Established in 1925, the Ukrainian National Women’s League of America (UNWLA) is the largest and longest-running Ukrainian women’s organization in the United States. Rooted in a mission to promote education, culture, and humanitarian aid, UNWLA has supported Ukrainians worldwide during some of the most challenging times in history. From delivering medical supplies to aiding orphanages and communities devastated by war, UNWLA exemplifies its commitment to supporting Ukraine while celebrating and preserving its rich traditions. UNWLA is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization.

This December, UNWLA Branch 56 based in Northport, Florida, invites you to join in their mission through an unforgettable cultural experience: the Ukrainian Christmas Festival. The festival promises to be a vibrant celebration of Ukraine’s unique customs, music, and artistry—a testament to the resilience and beauty of Ukrainian culture during this special time of year.

  • Time: 12:00–5:00 pm (Live performances begin at 1:30 pm)
  • Location: Venice Centennial Park Gazebo at 200 W Venice Ave, Venice, Florida

Program Highlights

Prepare to be captivated by Ukrainian choral and instrumental performances beginning at 1:30 pm. But the magic doesn’t stop there! The festival will also feature an diverse display of Ukrainian folk art, including:

  • Vyshyvanka (Ukrainian embroidery): Famous worldwide for its intricate designs and vibrant colors, these garments symbolize national pride and heritage.
  • Ukrainian wood carvings, ceramics, and pottery: These timeless crafts embody the spirit of Ukraine’s artisanal traditions.
  • Handcrafted Christmas ornaments: Unique decorations that bring a touch of Ukrainian culture to your holiday celebrations.

Attendees are encouraged to wear their favorite vyshyvanka—embroidered shirt, dress, or other garment—to celebrate this cultural showcase in true Ukrainian style.

Don’t forget to bring lawn chairs for a comfortable afternoon in the park as you enjoy the festive performances and explore the artistry on display.
