We’re pleased to spotlight an upcoming community event honoring 100 Years of Ukrainian Women’s Leadership and the 35-year anniversary of UNWLA Branch #56—a special celebration of heritage, service, and community spirit.

The Ukrainian National Women’s League of America Branch #56 is hosting a special double milestone celebration you won’t want to miss. This upcoming event honors 100 Years of Ukrainian Women’s Leadership through the Ukrainian National Women’s League of America, alongside the 35th Anniversary of the local North Port Branch #56.

Whether you’d like to try your hand at time-honored Ukrainian crafts, connect with the local community, or enjoy a festive meal with family and friends, the Art Fest offers a wonderful window into Ukrainian culture, tradition, and community spirit.

The celebration also shines a light on the remarkable legacy of the Ukrainian National Women’s League of America. Founded in 1925, UNWLA is the longest-running and largest Ukrainian women’s organization in the United States. For generations, it has helped preserve Ukrainian culture, advance educational initiatives, and unite communities through service and leadership.

That mission remains just as vital today. UNWLA continues to provide humanitarian assistance to Ukrainians worldwide by helping deliver medicine and medical equipment to hospitals, supporting evacuated orphanages, and supplying urgently needed aid such as food parcels, hygiene items, generators, and other relief to communities affected by Russia’s war against Ukraine. Through initiatives such as Keep Ukraine Warm, the organization has also helped fund window repairs, wood-burning stoves, and winter relief supplies for Ukrainian communities enduring the hardships of war.
